Local Company Wins Chrysalis Award 

Independence, MO – Missouri Contracting & Cleaning, Inc., a local reconstruction/restoration company, was recently awarded a Chrysalis Remodeling Award for “Best Project – Insurance Restoration” in the Midwest region.  One hundred and thirty-five projects were entered for the Midwest region, which encompasses 12 states.  Out of those 135 entries, only 31 entries were chosen as Chrysalis Award winners.   

The 2005 Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling were judged by editors and writers of Better Homes & Gardens, Woman’s Day Special Interest Publications, Southern Living, and HGTVPro.  Entries were judged on overall design, the creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure. 

Missouri Contracting’s entry was a restoration and remodel project for a 100-year old home in the Kansas City Metro Area.  The project encompassed restoration work after the home sustained damage from a major fire, as well as a significant remodel to the home’s kitchen and main floor.

“This was the first year that Missouri Contracting & Cleaning has entered the awards contest, and to take home top honors in this highly competitive category is quite impressive,” said Ken Kanline, Director of the Chrysalis Awards. 

Missouri Contracting & Cleaning will be honored at the twelfth annual Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling Excellence on June 9^th at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta.  The awards, sponsored by Qualified Remodeler magazine and Stock Building Supply, will be presented during the Southern Building Show.

Missouri Contracting has served the restoration and remodeling needs of the Kansas City Metro Area for over 30 years.  Last year, the company was ranked number 27 on the Ingram’s Corporate Report 100 of Kansas City’s fastest growing, locally owned and operated businesses. In addition, Missouri Contracting & Cleaning made national ranking, number 217, in the Qualified Remodeler’s top 500 list in 2004.
